Determination of Phenolic Components of Vitex agnus-castus L. (Verbenaceae) from Muğla-Ula region in Turkey.

Aims: In this research, it was aimed to determine the phenolic components of Vitex agnus‐castus L. (Chaste) samples belonging Verbenaceae family, which is one significant medicinal plants our country.Methods and Results: agnus-castus leaf flower provided from during flowering grown under Karabörtlen area (81 m) ecological conditions. Samples were then dried in a semi-shadowy airy place at room temperature (at 25°C) be used extraction process. study, composition obtained analyzed determined by UPLC-ESI-MS / MS¯ method. Totally, 8 samples. Among chasteberry (Vitex agnus- castus L.) period, most effective components; protocatechuic acid 4906.02 (mg kg¯); 4-hydroxy benzoic 1603.88 mg kg¯), gentisic 668.49 kg¯) found out.Conclusions: Plant-derived natural products have received considerable attention recent years due their diverse pharmacological properties, including several compounds.Most these bioactive compounds are plant secondary metabolites such as terpenoids, alkaloids plants. Phenolic antioxidants can prevent many diseases cancer, heart disease, cataracts, eye diseases, old age etc. The results study also showed that samples, rich components.Significance Impact Study: indicated possess potential source phenolics, may food, pharmaceutical cosmetic industries protective agent reduce oxidative damage terms components.
